Book Review:
Many people refer to Charles Dickens’ novel, Great
Expectations as a classic. I quickly disagreed. When I was reading this novel I
was struggling, mostly because the novel was written in “old English” writing which,
most of the time, is difficult to get through and difficult to understand. Also,
I think people would have a difficult time reading this novel because it was
written so long ago and because of this type of language used throughout it. As
I kept reading, I started to get a better understanding of the messages that are
incorporated in the novel such as, reaching for your goals and not forgetting
where you came from. I think that people
should read this book because it teaches some great morals of life that
everyone should learn from this novel. Adults should definitely read this especially
because they would have a better grasp of it and understanding of it and
teenagers should read this novel in a group project, with a class or in a book
club because I think that they would get a better understanding of the novel
this way. In the end I think it would be worth it to read this novel because of
the morals that it offers and teaches throughout it.
